Some More Horse Country Farm!

Baby Redwing

Yesterday was my second day at Horse Country Farm, and my favorite part was the trail ride. I saw a coyote! It was really cool! It started to make a weird sound, so we tried to get the horses out of that area. It was sort of weird that I got to ride Mojave again but I liked it because it was fun. On the trail, he started trotting, but he wasn't supposed to. It was very funny. I also liked the baby foal (that's a baby horse) that was there named Redwing. Redwing is adorable! He is about two months old, and has really long legs. Here are two more pictures I took:

Look how sweet he is!

So little!!!!!!!

Well, anyway, my friend is leasing a horse there, named Trailking, and that's the horse that kicked me last time. Redwing's mom, Laramie and Trailking are right next to each other, and Laramie keeps trying to bite him. Here they are:

They both fight all the time! I still like them both! I have lots of pictures, so here are the rest of the horse pictures:

Guess what? Luke is a girl! But it's not funny that she has Colic. Colleen said that colic is any stomach problem with a horse. The medicine is called banamine. I really hope Luke gets better. Alina is 13 years old, but she's not to much taller then me. Well, here are the last pictures:

Horse Country Farm

Here's sweet Mojave

It's me again! I didn't want to wait until tomorrow to post this, so I'm posting it now. I went to this horse riding lesson place called Horse Country Farm, and what I do is I work for three hours and then I get to have a riding lesson after. Sometimes we can work for about an hour, groom the horses and have our lesson, then have a lunch break, and then we finish our hours. What's great about this is that the three hours I do a week counts for my community service hours for school. That means that I'm having fun and doing something for school. The only part I don't like is my instructer, Coleen, sometimes she doesn't show me how to do something, and then she expects me to know how to do it, and then she sometimes gets angry. The coolest part of that day which was last Saturday, I got kicked by a horse! It didn't break any bones because sense I am short, he kicked right above my knee, so now I show all my friends my bruise. They think it's pretty cool! That was my goal. Anyway, the horse I got to ride that day was Mojave (moe-hav-e). He was the most stubborn horse ever! He wouldn't trot for me. He is just a brat. But he sure is cute! His color is called palomino. Here's a few pictures of him:

Isn't he cute?

Chico

Grumpy and I at Chico for the first time

This is a picture of my grandpa (Grumpy) and I at Chico Hot Springs in Montana for the first time. It was a really fun trip, but my favorite part was when I was riding a horse with my Grumpy. I love him so much and I miss him very much. He died almost a year ago. It was so sad. We went back to Chico and I rode a horse again!

I love the horse, Chief! So cute!

The name of the horse that I got to ride was Chief, and thats funny because we used to have a dog named Chief. The funny part was that I was the smallest person there but I got to ride the biggest horse! He was a very sweet horse, and so adorable! I hope that I get to go back to Chico next Summer, because that was a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure that I get to go to Montana next year, because that's what we do almost every year. I can't wait! I just got two Equine Veterinary books, and they are actually very interesting. Oh, by the way, equine is the scientifical word that means horse. I actually have some other things to post on different pages, but it has already happened, so I already know what I'm going to write tomorrow. It's pretty cool, so just check tomorrow, and it will probably be up. There's nothing else to say so I'll just save anything I missed and forgot to say tomorrow.

Pony Camp

Whisper and I at Pony Camp
I went to Pony Camp when it was Summer right after I finished second grade. It was in 2002. What I did was I went to this camp where you learn to ride horses. It lasted a week, and on the last day there was a horse show for all the parents to see their kids and see what they were doing that week. It was very fun for me.
About a year later my Daddy and I went back there because you can just ride the horses on the trail, so we were going to go camping, so we stopped there to say hi to Whisper, the horse, or actually pony, that I rode. This is I think the only picture of me at pony camp when I had the lessons. Here are a few more from when we went back:

Ok, so thats about all about Pony Camp. I got a cool award or certificate paper. Sweet!

Welcome To My Blog!

Callahan and Rose
This is the first time I ever rode a horse. Her name was Rose and I was just a couple years old. I was very anxious to ride Rose when my brother, Scott, was getting ready to ride. he got to go on the trail. All I got to do was go around in circles in the little arena. The lady who owned the horse (on the right of the picture) made Rose keep her head down like bowing or something dumb. We were actually on a camping trip in Deception Pass. Ever sense then, I've loved horses.

After this encounter with sweet little Rose, my grandma lived about a block away from where this other horse stayed. A lot of the time when I was visiting Nana (my grandma), she would take me down to feed Mooney (the horse) carrots and pet him. Here's a few pictures:

Mooney was so cute, but sadly, he moved away. Now, there are 2 miniature horses there, and they just had a foal a while before. The man that owns the minis won't let anyone feed them of love them and claims, "They're my horses to enjoy!" We still feed them anyway ;) Tomorrow, I will post what happened, and I already know it's awesome!
